ROWHEDGE REGATTA 25th JUNE 2005

ROWHEDGE ANNUAL REGATTA

Saturday the 25th of June 2005 and the weather was not as good as in previous years but as it followed a heat wave, was welcome never-the-less.  The turn out was as good as ever.  All the stalls were well attended, all showing a brisk trade.

The events were all well supported, specially the "Crabbing Competition" and we start the photo's with the Balloon Race.

The start

And, with a whoosh

"Are You Ready?...............................................................They are off!  who will win?

"Early,  but still they come"

"The Albion,  looking very inviting"

"One of the, if not, the first home"

Folks, messing around on the River

Here comes the stars of the show - Welcome to Rowhedge,

"Another home"

"Crabbing, a short lull?"

Here is another and how well she looks - but how is the crabbing doing, looks like it is a little quite.  "Concentrate, You Two"

"Messing about on the River"

"Clog dancing in Essex?"

I believe this is the canoe race, but it looks a bit haphazard to me, good sailors though.  And the Clog Dancers, bless'em

Nearly at "The Anchor"

"Let's get at the Bitter"

Nearly all home and the Pub will not run dry, yet!!.

In spite of the weather, a very successful regatta and again I congratulate the organising committee for a job well done and also to the splendid folk of Rowhedge whose enthusiasm for the event. I look forward to next year.
